Thank you so much!!
I'd been dabbling in genealogy since age 16, but at age 20 began full time research of my paternal grandmother's Loy family of Effingham County, Illinois. At first I researched just this branch, descended from Martin Loy's grandson John Henry Loy. Then, I heard from those descended from John Henry's cousins. Not to omit them, my research soon extended beyond Effingham Loys. Although I'm researching my ancestry, mostly I'm "cousin collecting." My goal is to document as many descendants of Martin Loy (to America 1741) as possible to the most current census available, 1930. After 15 years of research, my manuscript was sent for publication in 1997, "officially" published after New Years 1998. Fifty copies were made, each weighing 10 lbs. A second edition is currently being compiled, this time in CD rather than book format. A companion website followed, "The Complete Loy History Website." This is not limited to Martin Loy descendants, but to anyone researching the Loy surname. The site's newsletter was discontinued in 2007, replaced by this blog. For contact info and more Loy info, see "The Complete Loy History Website" from top link.
